Formerly the Old House Restaurant, this 16th century farm worker's cottage has been converted into a smart pub with restaurant and accommodation which opened on 6 September 2012. The small beamed bar, which is at the back of the building, leads to a large restaurant where very good quality food is served. A small tiled bar area greets you when entering. From this a small corridor leads to a hidden second room for drinkers which has a wood burning stove at one end. Be careful as the beams are very low in some places. From this is another hidden room, almost a padded cell, with perhaps even lower beams. Outside is a large and attractive patio area leading to a garden with plenty of tables. Accommodation consists of six en-suite rooms. These are found in a separate converted barn overlooking the garden. The pub was bought by the Butcomber Brewery in December 2022. The pub also opens for breakfast each day from 8am.
