This early 19th-century pub was built on the site of the village market and subsequently extended into a neighbouring shop. The newer area is mainly used as a restaurant, leaving the remainder of the L-shaped bar with its real fire for drinkers. The bar is carpeted throughout and packed with interesting decorations, notices and objects. There is an outside bar in the yard at the back. Sports TV is shown in the main bar with a main screen and a repeater screen, which is especially popular on Sunday afternoons and evenings.
